How to Add Password to WinRAR?

An RAR archive is a type of computer file known as an archive. The RAR file contains multiple other computer files all compressed down into one file thanks to a program called WinRAR. WinRAR is a great way to share files on the Internet. But sometimes you want your WinRAR file to be visible only for you or the visitors of your forum or website, or even family members. STEP1: Create a WinRAR archive

Firstly you have to make sure the "WinRAR" be installed in your computer. Then you can right click on a file, choose the option "Add to archive" from the pop-up menu. There will be a window open, where you can customize the archive you are making. If you don't want to use the default name which is the same as filename, you can rename it freely. And you can click the "Browse" button to customize the folder for saving the created RAR file.

STEP2: Use password to protect WinRAR

To set password in WinRAR, click the "Advanced" tab. Then find the "Set Password..." button. Click it to open a small window to add password.

Enter the password here, then hit OK button. Several seconds later, the rar file will be created with password encryption. Done! Now you have created a password protected WinRAR archive successfully!
